On this page
Undo a grant receipt or recognition with a new reason and evidence. You need View grants and Review grant recognition and corrections, plus approved mappings and an active Operating fund.
WarningUndo posts a financial reversal with the original coding and keeps the original activity. It does not transfer money through your bank. An undo cannot itself be reversed.
Undo an entry
- Open the award from Grants.
- Find the original receipt or recognition under Activity.
- Select Undo on that entry to open the panel.
- Enter Why are you undoing this?, up to 5,000 characters.
- Select Add supporting file and wait for the filename to appear.
- Select Post undo.
A review needs 1–50 PDF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG files up to 10 MB each. Missing evidence keeps the button disabled with its reason. Validation errors reopen the panel with your entries.
What happens next
The original row stays listed as undone, with its undo date and reason. Journal entry opens the source and Reversing entry opens the undo, subject to journal viewing permission. Evidence links retain both reviews. The reversal is dated today or the original entry's date if later.
Receipt and recognition figures leave out undone activity. Undoing all funding still leaves the entire award locked, including classification, name, agreement, and reporting dates. An undated funded award continues to its money step because its dates cannot change.
Troubleshooting
Recognition that consumed an advance can block undoing its receipt. Undo of a receivable uses its linked invoice; active payments and return credits must be released first. Closed periods can also block posting. A completed retry reuses the retained reversal.
Next, review the grant's money workflow or review grant reports.
