Turn on project tracking to show project fields on invoices and bills and make project pages available. The setting applies to everyone in the business. You need Manage business settings, roles & permissions permission.

Enable project tracking

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Features.
  3. Turn on Project tracking in Everyday.
  4. Turn on Require a project on invoices and bills if every invoice and bill must have a project.
  5. Select Save changes.

Features settings with project tracking and required-project switches

The save bar appears after you make a change. If you open an older project tracking settings link, QixCount sends you to Features.

Enable monthly budgets

On the same page, turn on Budgets in Accounting, then select Save changes. This enables the separate monthly account budgeting pages. A project's revenue target and cost budget are entered on that project.

What happens next

Project tracking shows project fields and reports, while each person's permissions still control access. If the required-project switch is on, invoices and bills cannot be saved without a project. Create at least one project before entering those documents.

Turning a feature off hides it for everyone and keeps existing data. Turning project tracking off also clears its required-project setting. Turning it back on does not automatically restore that requirement.

Continue with Create a project, or Create a budget.
