Check dates, posting and account activity when the income statement differs from your expectation.

- The period and an example of an amount you expected to see
The income statement measures activity between two dates. Check the chosen period before tracing individual amounts.
Confirm the period and posting
- Open Reports, then Income statement.
- Set From Date and To Date to the period you intended.
- Generate the report again.
- Trace one unexpected amount in the general ledger.
Draft journals do not contribute to posted account activity. An invoice or bill can exist before its ledger entry is posted. Check the document's posting status if an expected amount is absent. A categorized bank row can show under In QixCount with no journal.
Check the account and sign
The General income statement includes revenue and expense accounts with activity in the period, including inactive accounts. It excludes closing entries and their reversals from activity. The ledger includes those entries, so a closed period needs a careful comparison.
Negative account activity reduces its total. A bill discount lowers Other Expenses. A report saved before this change can differ from the same report run again. Do not add another entry solely to make a saved report agree.
Contact support if the dates and posted detail agree but the report still looks wrong. Include the period, account code and an example entry. Review any accounting correction with your accountant before changing records.
