Connect a bank with Plaid

Enable bank feeds and start a Plaid connection for your business.

Who can do this
Owners enable bank feeds; connecting needs View reconciliations and Create bank accounts/transactions
Where
Settings, then Integrations
You'll need
Accounting and bank feeds enabled, with the Plaid connection service available
On this page

Use Plaid to bring bank transactions into QixCount for review.

Enable bank feeds

  1. Open Settings, then Integrations.
  2. Turn on Enable bank feeds for this business under Bank feeds.
  3. Select Save changes.

Only business owners can open this page or change the switch. The required settings permissions cannot be assigned to staff. If Connect Bank is disabled, contact support.

Start the connection

  1. Open Banking, then Bank accounts.
  2. Select Connect Bank.
  3. Select Continue with Plaid.
  4. Complete the authorization in Plaid.

QixCount opens the account-selection page after successful authorization. Plaid must return at least one account. QixCount then requires a display name and linked general ledger account for each account you select.

What happens next

Continue with Choose accounts and check a connection. Authorizing the connection does not finish account setup or add the incoming transactions to your ledger.

Troubleshooting

If authorization or the connection step fails, retry the connection from Bank accounts. If it continues to fail, contact support with the visible error. Do not send support your bank password.

Good to know

You still choose the accounts to import and check their ledger mapping after authorization.

Who can do this and what you need

You need View reconciliations and Create bank accounts/transactions. Starting a sync also needs Edit bank transactions. Owners have these permissions. The business must have Accounting enabled, bank feeds enabled, and a working Plaid connection service.
