Recovery codes let you complete two-step verification without your authenticator app. QixCount generates eight codes when you enable verification. Each code works once.

Save the generated set

  1. On Recovery Codes, select Reveal Codes to read the generated set.
  2. Select Copy All or Download to save a copy.
  3. Store the codes somewhere you can reach if your authenticator is unavailable.
  4. Select I've saved my recovery codes to continue.

After setup or regeneration, revealing, copying and downloading each retrieve the codes through your verified sign-in session. Codes are absent from the initial page source, and requests are limited to 10 per minute. Reloading the page hides the set and ends that page's retrieval access. On a later visit it shows Codes Hidden and offers regeneration. Keep the copy you saved; do not rely on returning to the page to read it again.

Use a recovery code

  1. Sign in with your email and password.
  2. On the verification page, select Use a recovery code.
  3. Enter an unused recovery code in the dialog.
  4. Select Use Recovery Code.

Use the separate dialog because the main app-code input accepts digits only. A successful recovery-code sign-in consumes that code and displays a reminder to generate new codes.

Replace your codes

  1. Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and select Security settings.
  2. Select View Recovery Codes.
  3. Enter your password in Enter your password to regenerate codes.
  4. Select Regenerate Recovery Codes.
  5. Save the new set.

Regeneration replaces the entire previous set. Old codes no longer work. If you cannot sign in with either an app code or a recovery code, contact support; changing your password does not replace the verification step.

Next, review your sign-in history.
