A firm membership makes someone available for client assignments.

Invite a colleague

Only the firm owner can create invitations.

  1. From the business list, select Accounting firms, select Open firm beside your firm, then find Invite a colleague.
  2. Enter the Colleague’s email.
  3. Select Create invitation link.
  4. Select Copy link in the invitation message.
  5. Share the link privately with that colleague.

QixCount creates a link for the named email. It does not send a staff invitation email from this form. The link expires after seven days.

Accept a firm invitation

  1. Open the shared invitation link.
  2. If your account already exists, select Sign in to continue and use the invited email. Otherwise, complete the account form with that email.
  3. Complete two-step verification, including saving recovery codes when setting it up.
  4. Check the firm membership acceptance box.
  5. Select Join firm.

An accepted, expired, or wrong-email invitation cannot be used. Ask the firm owner for a new link or sign in with the invited account.

What happens next

You land on My firms. Open the firm to see assigned clients. If there are none, the firm owner must assign you after the business owner approves the connection. See Use a firm workspace.

To remove a colleague, the firm owner selects Remove staff and client access under Firm staff. This deactivates their firm membership and removes their assignments across the firm’s connected clients. The firm owner cannot be removed through this control.

Good to know

It does not give access to client records by itself.

Every firm member needs two-step verification.
