Check readiness before recording work

  1. Follow Your first week with Nonprofit to review the setup sequence.
  2. Check account mappings and readiness with the person responsible for your books.
  3. Choose the gift, grant or report guide below for your next task.

Until account mappings are approved, the dashboard shows setup guidance instead of financial figures. Posting also needs an active Operating fund. Use the setup guides to resolve these requirements before entering financial activity.

Match access to each responsibility

Being a finance lead does not itself grant permissions. Owners have all business permissions; other people need the specific fund, program, mapping, gift, grant or report permission for the task. Viewing Nonprofit reports needs View Nonprofit reports. Grant management, review, receipt and recognition are separate permissions.

Ask the owner to review Roles and permissions if an action is unavailable. For firm-based work, use For accountants and firms.
