On this page
A Stripe payout records money moving from Stripe clearing to your bank. It is separate from the card charges paid by customers.
Inspect a payout
- Open Banking.
- Select Stripe activity.
- Set Type to Payout.
- Select Apply Filters.
- Select View on the payout.
Review its amount, date and Journal Entries. The import creates a cleared bank deposit and posts an entry that increases the receiving bank account and reduces the clearing account. It uses the payout's creation date from Stripe.
The related transactions table groups imported activity carrying the same Stripe payout reference. Compare it with Stripe's payout details when checking which payments belong to the settlement.
Nonprofit payout checks
Nonprofit requires the exact charge and refund records for the payout to be imported and processed first. Their current source entries must be posted on or before the payout date. The clearing amounts, including fees and refunds, must match the payout exactly.
The import preserves the source fund and program coding. Corrected or voided source records can block automatic payout posting. Review the message with your accountant before retrying.
If a payout is missing, sync recent Stripe activity. For an existing failed payout, correct its reported cause before reprocessing it.
Good to know
QixCount imports paid payouts from Stripe; the activity screen is for reviewing those records.
Who can do this and what you need
The Stripe connection needs a Clearing Account and a Payout Bank Account (Optional). Despite its optional label, a payout bank account is required to import a payout. That bank account must have an active accounting account linked to it.
Only business owners can change these mappings. Reviewing activity needs View reconciliations access; retrying a failed payout needs Edit bank transactions access.
