Paying online
Follow the invoice's card payment link and understand the payment result page and missing-button cases.
- Who can do this
- Customers with an invoice that offers online payment
- Where
- Pay Now
- You'll need
- An unpaid invoice with a working Stripe payment link
Follow the card payment link
WarningCompleting checkout charges your card. Check the invoice and the checkout amount before paying.
- Select Pay Now in the invoice email or on the invoice page.
- Check the invoice number and amount in Stripe checkout.
- Complete the card payment in Stripe.
The payment link requests the invoice balance that was due when the link was created. QixCount does not provide an amount field for choosing a smaller payment in this flow. If you have already paid part of the invoice or the amount looks wrong, contact the sender before completing checkout.
Read the result
After a successful checkout return, the page says Payment received and shows the invoice number. That page itself does not verify or record the payment; the business needs to check its recorded invoice payments. Ask the sender to confirm if your payment and invoice balance appear out of step.
If you cancel checkout, the return page says Payment not completed. Canceling clears the saved payment link for an unpaid invoice. Ask the sender for a fresh invoice email if you need another working link.
Return to QixCount opens the main website.
If there is no payment button
The button needs enabled Stripe online payments, an existing link and an unpaid balance. Paid or void invoices do not show this button on the invoice page or in new emails. A Pay Now button in an older email is not withdrawn, so open the invoice page and check its balance first. Opening the invoice page does not create a missing link. Use the sender's payment instructions or contact them.
When the successful live payment is recorded, QixCount attempts a receipt email if the business has receipt emails enabled and your customer email address is saved. The checkout return page alone does not send it. Ask the sender if you need a copy. See The payment receipt.
