Move from QuickBooks Online

Bring your accounts, contacts and opening numbers across in order. Moving uses separate CSV files. It does not copy your old workspace or its complete transaction history.

  1. Plan your move

Choose a transition date and check what can move before you prepare your files.

  2. Export from QuickBooks Online

Keep exports and reports for the transition date, then prepare separate CSV files from working copies.

  3. Import the chart of accounts

Check codes already present in QixCount. Uploading saves a review; nothing is added until you commit.

  4. Import customers and vendors

Import both lists before bringing in open documents.

  5. Import unpaid invoices and bills General only

Open documents keep their original dates, which must be on or before the transition date. Committing posts the documents immediately.

  6. Enter opening balances General only

Import the remaining balances after open documents, leaving receivables and payables out of this file. Committing posts a journal on the as-of date.

  7. Check your numbers

Compare the trial balance with the old system before entering later activity. Nonprofit does this after support has planned and entered the opening ledger.
