# Review CSV records before importing

Prepare lists and General opening records in separate files, then check all rows before committing.

**Import data** brings supported CSV records into QixCount through an upload, mapping and row-review process. Uploading does not add business records. You inspect the results before selecting **Commit import**.

Import accounts first, then customers and vendors. General can continue with unpaid invoices and bills, then remaining opening balances. Open document files allow 500 rows. Bills need an approved vendor, and bills covered by an approval workflow must be entered by hand. Nonprofit supports the three list types only; contact support to plan its opening ledger.

Any row error blocks the whole file. Repeated records are skipped without updating them. An invoice number on another customer blocks the file; different vendors can share a bill reference. Ledger imports recheck closed periods and backdating rules, and all types require their own action permissions. Slash dates use US month/day/year; `YYYY-MM-DD` is also accepted.

Use **Undo opening balances** on a completed opening import to reverse its journal on the original as-of date. Review any bank opening-balance warnings before committing. Raw upload rows are cleared after commit, and unfinished uploads expire after 30 days. Importing sends no customer email; later invoice reminders follow the usual settings and [current limits](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/invoicing/payment-reminders).
