# Choose a report

Find financial, project and reconciliation reports and understand which records they use.

Canonical: https://demo.qixcount.com/help/reports/reports-overview

Who can do this: Owners, or people with *View financial reports*

Where: Reports, then All reports

In General, open **Reports**, then select **All reports** to find the reports available to you. In Nonprofit, open **Reports** under **Nonprofit** for its seven statements. With shared financial-report permission, **Other reports** links to the shared reports and **All reports**. The list groups financial, project, tax, reconciliation and Nonprofit reports. Your permissions and enabled features determine which links appear.

Owners can open financial reports. Staff need **View financial reports** permission. Viewer access includes viewing these reports. Assigned accountants from an approved firm also have financial-report access. Project reports and reconciliation reports have separate permissions; access to financial reports does not grant access to every report in the list.

## Understand the source of the figures

QixCount uses accrual accounting. The financial statements use posted accounting entries, rather than waiting for every invoice or bill to be paid. Draft entries do not appear in those balances.

Aging and project reports use document balances and totals, so they can differ from account-based statements. See [Why two reports can differ](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/reports/why-reports-differ).

Financial reports do not have a record status of their own. Generating a report does not post entries or change the books. Set the dates before you [export or print a report](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/reports/export-and-print-reports).
