# Check what can and cannot move

Understand the supported import records and the history or details that the CSV screens do not copy.

Canonical: https://demo.qixcount.com/help/moving-to-qixcount/what-cannot-be-moved

The data import screens bring across a defined set of records. They do not copy a complete accounting workspace, restore another product's backup or preserve its full historical activity.

## Check the supported scope

| Records | General | Nonprofit |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Customer contact list | Supported. | Supported. |
| Vendor contact list | Supported. | Supported. |
| Chart of accounts | Supported, without balances. | Supported, without balances. |
| Unpaid invoices and bills | One opening amount per document. | Blocked; contact support. |
| Remaining opening balances | One posted opening journal. | Blocked; contact support. |

Each type requires its own [permissions](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/moving-to-qixcount/plan-your-move). If you cannot see a type, ask the owner to review access. Nonprofit ledger types can be listed with a support message, but their upload action is blocked.

## Know which details stay behind

Contact imports do not copy balances, payment history, tax identification details, shipping addresses, payment terms or attachments. Account imports add the supported account fields and parent relationship, not old journal lines.

Open-document imports do not copy original detailed lines, previous payments, original tax calculations, email history or attachments. Each document has one line for its unpaid opening amount. A customer or vendor credit can't be imported, because an open amount must be greater than zero. Review the difference with your accountant, because it stays in Opening Balance Equity. Imported documents do not create income, expenses or sales tax. Importing sends no email; imported invoices can be considered for later reminders under the same [settings and current limits](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/invoicing/payment-reminders) as other invoices.

These files do not bring across bank connections, reconciliation history, projects, budgets, gifts, donors, grants, restrictions, fund coding, member access, approval history or audit history. Other workflows have their own screens; a data import is not a substitute for setting those up.

## Understand corrections

Duplicates are skipped without updating existing records. Uploading the same file is not a way to edit a contact, account or document. A committed import cannot run again. Opening balances have **Undo opening balances** on the completed import, which reverses the journal on its as-of date. Other imports have no whole-file undo; corrections follow their normal record actions and permission and posting rules.
