# View or download an invoice PDF

Open the saved invoice as a PDF or download a copy for the customer.

Canonical: https://demo.qixcount.com/help/invoicing/invoice-pdf

Who can do this: Owners, or people with *View invoices*

Where: Sales, then Invoices

Use the PDF actions to review or save a customer copy of an invoice. Owners have access; other users need *View invoices*. Viewing or downloading a PDF does not mark a draft sent or email the customer.

## Open the PDF

1. Open **Invoices**.
2. Select the invoice number.
3. Open **PDF**.
4. Select **View PDF**.

The document opens in a new browser tab. To save it directly, select **Download PDF** from the same menu. The filename uses the invoice number and ends in .pdf.

## Check the customer copy

The PDF uses the business's saved invoice template: classic, modern, minimal or professional. It is generated on A4 portrait pages. Company branding and payment instructions depend on the saved document settings.

Check the customer, billing address, dates, item descriptions, totals and balance before sharing it. Shipping details appear when the shipping address differs from billing. Notes, terms and the footer can appear on the document, so do not use those fields for private staff comments.

An online payment button appears only when online payments are enabled and the invoice already has an eligible payment link. Generating the PDF alone does not create a new payment link. Draft and void invoice PDFs can still be opened; verify the invoice's status before using a copy to request payment.

For several invoices, see [batch invoices](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/invoicing/batch-invoices). To deliver a single invoice with a link and optional attachment, [send the invoice email](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/invoicing/send-an-invoice).
