# Why does Nonprofit ask me to approve mappings?

Mapping approval and an active Operating fund are posting-readiness checks.

QixCount blocks Nonprofit posting until the account mappings are approved and the default Operating fund is active. Someone with *Review and approve Nonprofit account mappings* permission must review the account purposes and active expense-account function defaults. An accessible active or trial Nonprofit subscription is also required. Approval does not remove later account, coding or period checks.
