# Why can't I change a grant's classification?

Retained posted funding history locks the saved grant classification.

The classification review is locked after retained posted funding history exists. The entire award is locked too, including name, agreement, and reporting dates. Undoing all funding does not unlock it. Before posting begins, a person with Review grant classification and evidence permission can save a named review with reasoning and supporting files for an active award and grantor. This screen records your classification choice; it does not determine the correct choice for you.
