# What if I lose access to my authenticator?

Use an unused recovery code after your password, or contact support if none is available.

After entering your password, select **Use a recovery code** on the verification page. Enter an unused code in that separate dialog. Each recovery code works once, and generating a replacement set invalidates the old set. Keep the saved copy: later visits hide the codes, and the generated-code page retrieves them only when you reveal, copy or download them.
