# Does accepting a bank category post a journal?

Category acceptance and adding a bank transaction to the books are separate.

No. Accepting a suggested category marks the bank record reviewed without creating its journal. A record under **In QixCount** can therefore still lack a ledger posting. If it needs a new posting, follow [Categorize and add a bank transaction](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/banking/categorize-a-transaction) and check for an existing match first. Banking edits need *Edit bank transactions* permission. If you already accepted and lost the Add control, inspect the linked journal and contact support before entering another record.
