# Why can't I generate a 1099 form?

Generation needs a draft, report export permission and the vendor's separate 1099 information.

The form must still be a draft, you need *Export reports and 1099s* permission, and the vendor's separate 1099 information must have a saved tax identification number. A tracking switch on the ordinary vendor record alone does not satisfy the generation check. Open the form's vendor information control and review the saved details.
