# Choose accounts and check a connection

Select which Plaid accounts to import and identify connection problems.

Canonical: https://demo.qixcount.com/help/banking/choose-accounts-and-fix-a-connection

Who can do this: Owners; choosing accounts needs *Create bank accounts/transactions*; checking a connection needs *View reconciliations*

Where: Banking, then Bank accounts

You'll need: To import: bank feeds enabled, a successful Plaid authorization, and an active asset or liability account for each selection

After [connecting with Plaid](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/banking/connect-a-bank-with-plaid), choose the accounts QixCount should add.

## Choose accounts

1. Review **Available Accounts**, including names, last digits, and any current balance shown.
2. Clear the checkbox for each account you do not want to import.
3. Enter **Display Name** for each selected account, up to 100 characters.
4. Select **GL Account** for each selected account.
5. Select **Import Selected Accounts**.

The general ledger account list contains active asset and liability accounts. Check any preselected mapping before submitting. At least one account must remain selected. An account already added with the same Plaid account identifier is skipped.

New accounts have automatic sync and auto-categorization enabled. If either must stay off, contact support before importing; the switches on this page do not save those choices.

## What happens next

If one account is created, QixCount opens the initial-sync page. If several accounts are created, you return to **Bank accounts**. Open each account and use **Start Initial Sync** where needed. See [Sync and review bank transactions](https://demo.qixcount.com/help/banking/sync-and-review).

## Check a broken connection

1. Open **Banking**, then **Bank accounts**.
2. Check the account's **Connection** label.
3. Open the account and review **Plaid Sync** and **Last Sync**.

If you see **Expired**, **Error**, or a message that the connection is unhealthy, contact support with the account name and message. The account pages do not currently provide a reconnect or disconnect control. If removal is pending, syncing is stopped; do not assume that retrying a sync renews authorization.

## Good to know

This task needs *Create bank accounts/transactions*. Viewing the resulting account needs *View reconciliations*. Owners have both.
